Daily Dose

Hi everyone! So today is a short post since I have of a question and would love opinions.

What time of day do you take your daily thyroid medication?

I personally have been taking it first thing in the morning at 6am or so. I hear others take it at night thou and it helps them get up the following morning. Then there are other cases, which Im really interested in, where people split up their dosage throughout the day.

     Thoughts?

  1. Hey Maddy~ I take NatureThroid at night just before I go to bed. I don't believe that it has ever given me a problem with sleep. When I was taking Synthroid and Cytomel, I would have been hesitant to try it at night - Cytomel definitely make me feel very awake.

To be honest, the initial reason I tried the NatureThroid at night is becuase I read that caffiene could interfere with the efficacy of the thyroid meds and I just couldn't give up my morning tea :)

    Hope you are feeling well!

  2. Hi Maddy,

I have recently been diagnosed with hypo and this is my 3rd day of taking Synthroid 50 MCG. I take it at 6:15 AM and wait an hour before eating or having my coffee. I am so glad that you decided to blog about your experiences with this tricky disorder. I am still trying to deal with the fact that I may have to be on this medication for life but it's also a relief that all of the weird isolated things that have been happening to me the past 7 months are related and not the result of me going crazy.

    Hope you are feeling well.
